2024 Christmas Bauble

Starting as early as September 2024, I began to develop and test different forms, glazes and finishes, all in the hopes of creating a special bauble for 2024, a tradition that I hope to keep going each year.

All of the tests have lead to the curation of the angular, cone shaped bauble with a variety of different glaze options, with my personal favourite finish being a red glaze and light flux, the flux creating movement and cascading down through the bright red glaze.

Using porcelain for the baubles allows a clean background for the glaze, making the colours seem brighter and the colours to pop once they have been fired to 1150ºc.
